Visits
We believe that learning is enhanced when rooted in first hand experience. We aim to ensure that all year groups flourish in environments which enrich life experiences.
Key Stage 1 children have the opportunity to take part in local visits including sports festivals held at local secondary schools, the Oxford Botanical Gardens in Year 1 and Cogges Manor Farm in Year 2, to supplement their topic learning.
Key Stage 2 enjoy a variety of trips and visits to enhance their learning, including; The National Space Centre, The Living Rainforest, Ufton Court and the Linconsfield Centre. They also take part in sports festivals with other local schools.
Traditionally at Christmas, we all enjoy a visit from a theatre company who perform a Pantomime for us. 'Oh yes we do!'
Year 2 Visit to Cogges Manor Farm
Year 4 Visit to Ufton Court
Year 6 Visit to Lincolnsfield
In addition to our topic-based educational visits, we have a programme of residential visits for our Year 5 and 6 children:
Year 5 - In the Summer term, Year 5 are offered a two night 'Big Camp Out' on our schools grounds. The activities include: archery, catapult making, fencing and skateboarding.
Year 6 - Year 6 is a busy year for the children with the 11+ in September and SATs in May, so in the Summer term they are offered a 5 day residential trip to Osmington Bay Activity Centre in Dorset to participate in a range of water based activities.
More details of each residential are sent out as early as possible before the trip in order for parents to plan ahead and begin a payment plan.
