School Dogs
We are thrilled to welcome three wonderful additions to our school team: Purdy, Reggie, and Lucky!
Many of you may remember Bridget, a cherished member of our team up until two years ago. She was owned by Mr. Arnold, and her passing left a significant void in our community. Since then, we've been waiting for the right moment to introduce a new dog to our school, and we are overjoyed to announce the arrival of Purdy. Purdy is a trained Pets as Therapy dog, and she will be visiting us every two weeks on Tuesday afternoons, accompanied by her owner.
Reggie and Lucky are joining us as part of The Dog Mentor program. Reggie is a black poodle, and Lucky is a Labrador retriever puppy. Bridget taught us all the immense benefits of the human-animal bond, providing our children with joy, laughter, and a compassionate, non-judgmental listener.
For the past 10 years, The Dog Mentor program has been proven to positively impact children’s self-esteem, behaviour, peer relationships, and engagement skills, which ultimately lead to better academic achievement. Mr. Arnold will be leading the training for these wonderful dogs, and we are all excited about their journey. Their formal training begins on the 30th of September 2024, and we will keep you updated on their progress.

We hope you share our excitement! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
