Welcome to Aston Clinton School

Thank you for considering Aston Clinton School for your child.

Our school serves the parishes of Aston Clinton, Buckland and Drayton Beauchamp. We also welcome children from outside our catchment area whose families choose our school. Our Published Admission Number (PAN) is 58 pupils per year group.

If applications exceed the number of places available, Buckinghamshire Council's admission criteria will be applied when allocating places.

Starting Reception in September 2027

Applications for Reception places are coordinated by Buckinghamshire Council Admissions Team.

Key Dates

Applications open: 4 November 2026
Application deadline: 15 January 2027 (midnight)
National Offer Day: 16 April 2027

What You Need to Do

Complete Buckinghamshire Council's online primary school application.
Submit any required address evidence by the stated deadline.
Ensure your application is received before 15 January 2027.
Buckinghamshire Council will notify families of school allocations on National Offer Day.

Transition to School

If your child is offered a place for September 2027, you and your child will be invited to attend a range of transition events during the Summer Term.

These events help children become familiar with their new surroundings, meet staff and classmates, and build confidence ahead of starting school.

Part-Time Reception Provision

All Reception-aged children are offered a full-time place from September. However, there is the option for children to attend part-time initially if parents feel this would be more suitable. We are happy to discuss individual arrangements with families.

In-Year Admissions

Applications for places in year groups other than Reception are managed by Buckinghamshire Council.

Once your child has been offered a place at Aston Clinton School, please contact the school office to arrange a visit before accepting the place. You have up to six weeks to accept an offered school place, and we encourage families to take this opportunity to see our school in person, meet staff and learn more about our school community. Tours for in-year admission families are conducted by a member of our office team.

Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP)

We have an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) for children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) identifying speech, language and communication needs.

The ARP serves children from across Buckinghamshire and has places for up to ten pupils.

Secondary School Admissions

At the age of 11, children transfer to secondary school according to parental preference and Buckinghamshire's admissions procedures.

Most Aston Clinton pupils transfer to:

John Colet School
Aylesbury Grammar School
Aylesbury High School
Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School

Some pupils also move on to Tring School in Hertfordshire.

Families living within our catchment area are advised to consult Buckinghamshire Council's school transport policy to determine eligibility for home-to-school transport.
