The ACS Girls Football team went to a football tournament at Kingsbrook school on Monday 11th November.

Our team consisted of:

Ivy and Mayomikun in defence, Elsie, Bella and Marnie in midfield, Nelly and Romany as strikers and Aria as goal keeper.

The first game felt like a battle because of the constant one on one tackling, ending in a 0-0 draw.

The second game, we felt very confident playing as when Bella stepped up to the ball, we were surprised when the other team started chanting her name (unbeknown to us they opposition also had a Bella playing) she scored an excellent banger, not once but twice! After that came Elsie's time to shine, with an enthusiastic goal with the help of Marnie. Leading us to emerge with a victory of 3-0.

Onto game three, if fate was on our side this game could lead us to the final! The opposition were vicious, it was an endless war against their striker. In the end, our invincible defence battled it out ending the game with a score of 0-0. So it was up to our goal difference over the past games and thanks to Aria's unbelievable saves we made it to the final.

The final was indescribable - everyone trying their best but the result was 0-0....... so PENALITIES had to be taken to decide the winner.

Elsie, Ivy and Bella stepped up to take them - Elsie first - she scores.... Ivy and Bella took great shots but unluckily missed so it is now down to Aria to save the last goal 3....2....1 SHE SAVES so we win the tournament - we all scream and squeal in happiness and are awarded with shiny gold medals. Thank you to Mrs Saunders and Mrs Lacey for taking us.
