Transferring to Secondary School

At the age of 11, the children in Aylesbury Vale transfer to secondary schools according to parental preference and the results of the Secondary Schools Allocation Procedure. Our Year 6 pupils normally transfer to the John Colet Upper school or one of the three Aylesbury Grammar schools, Sir Henry Floyd, Aylesbury High (girls only)or Aylesbury Grammar (boys only).A small group of children go to Tring school in Hertfordshire. Information regarding the 11+ system is available from school, however, as of January 2013 there have been some changes introduced and some of your questions about these are answered here. The County policy for school transport has recently changed and parents are advised to refer to it when selecting the secondary school for their child. It can be found on the County Council website.
